Laura Ames
Sculptor Sonoma County
Laura Ames is a ceramic artist residing in Santa Rosa, CA. She has been studying and making art since she retired from PG&E in 2009. Laura alternates from sculpting, to making pottery, to glazing and painting. Her work is inspired by nature and the world around us. Many of her sculptures reflect a theme of world issues through animal imagery: Climate Change, Immigration, Covid, and Peace. often with a sense of humor.
Laura participated in Art at the Source Open Studios sponsored by the Sebastopol Center for the Arts from 2015 to 2019 . She now has a sculpture collection and pottery at Fulton Crossing Gallery in Fulton, CA as well as pottery and ceramic lizards at the Wild Rose Gallery in Jamestown, CA.
