About:

Each of us has a personal story, but that story—in infinite variations—is shared by all of us because of our connection as human beings. Starting from an emotion, a piece of music, a poem or a found object, I give these stories life and form in clay.

Through the adventure of self exploration—painful at times—I have learned the great joy of artistic creation. Through this process, I have discovered that I can risk, both personally and artistically, without being afraid. Myth and poetry have taught me to look at things from more than one direction. My direction is a continued exploration of art, self, and spirit.

I graduated from Stanford University with a degree in music, married and had 6 children, before opening my own business as a florist. My first introduction to clay was through classes offered by Cassandra Light at her Way of the Doll school. I took her classes for 3 years and became an assistant at the school for 1 year.

While I living in the San Francisco Bay Area, my work was exhibited at Jack London Square, Oakland, shown through the Contra Costa County Library System and displayed and sold from my Feet of Clay Sculpture Studio in El Cerrito and from my flower/gift/gallery shop in Kensington.

In 2000, I moved to Bodega Bay where I have participated in the Salmon Creek Art Walk—an Open Studio program for Salmon Creek artists and their guests—and in Art at the Source—an open studio program for West Sonoma County sponsored by the Sebastopol Center for the Arts. I have shown my work in Cloverdale, sponsored by the Sonoma County Library in Cloverdale, and at juried shows at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts. I have had pieces on exhibit at the Graton Gallery in Graton, the Local Color Gallery in Bodega Bay;  the Sebastopol Gallery in Sebastopol, and the Quercia Gallery in Duncan's Mills.
