Bente Christensen

My first language was Danish as my parents immigrated to San Francisco after World War 2. My father, a musician, taught me how to draw, paint and play the violin. As a six year old, I remember painting San Francisco skylines and Sonoma County landscapes with layers of colors & textures...bold and fearlessly.

Today, I paint the same way but have an experienced appreciation of  life's nuances with personal layers  & textures to draw upon.

I'm drawn to bold, colorful and intentional

Abstract compositions, incorporating a blend of both architectural lines and whimsical elements creating movement.

I want the observer to feel what I  feel when painting....joy, curiosity, optimism and carefree experimentation.
